VISIT US
Amherst Winery is in the heart of Victoria’s goldfields, 90 minutes from Melbourne’s WestGate Bridge, on the Talbot to Avoca road. The winery is 21 kilometres from Avoca and four kilometres from Talbot, an historic Village of the Old Goldfields.
The Cellar Door is based in Scandinavian Crescent, in the nearby town of Talbot. Hosts Elizabeth and Norman Jones open the winery’s cellar door from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm on weekends and public holidays or by appointment. Please telephone 5463 2105 or email amherstwinery@bigpond.com to confirm.
ACCOMMODATION
Talbot has a range of accommodation to suit all budgets and tastes. Highly recommended is St Andrews Self Contained Accommodation, a 145 year old former Presbyterian Church, tastefully converted into a luxury bed and breakfast.
